Happy Easter!

What a lovely Easter it is too. My children off school and playgroup playing out in the lovely weather. Iv had my table out too trying to do some felting!

These are a few pic's form the last month.....

My spring / summer style stall. This was at Oakham last week.
Iv got so used to having a 12 foot table, setting out all my things on a 6 foot table was a nightmare. Knowing what to put out and what not to was heart breaking. You just want to show everything!
This is my Royal Wedding carnation brooch. Just had to have a go!

Hand dyed merino brooch

I do love a bit of hand dyed scrim and Blue Face Leicester together!

Iv been meaning to do some bangles for a while and finally got some made! These are made out of a combination of merino variegated wool and tussah silk. Iv made loads more colours, just need to photograph them.

Mmmm turquoise is defiantly one of my favorite colours and I'm really liking this one!

Again I added scrim.... my addiction at the moment! A nice little bulbed purse.

Poppy....

Another hand dyed merino flower made into a poppy.
Tomorrow and Monday I'm off to Sywell Aerodrome for the Pennine Fairs Easter craft event. Its one of my favorite venues, just because of the Art Deco Hotel. Its a lovely building and takes me back to my childhood, watching one of my favorite movies Xanadu. Anyway loads of things need to be finished off and more flowers need to be made today.

I hope you all have a wonderful holidays and receive loads of eggs or Easter pressies.

Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch 2011 at the NEC, Birmingham.......

I can now reveal what im exhibiting this year...... Finally, they say!

The Ice Bag will be exhibited on the Longslade Stand near the Catwalk. The exhibits have been designed with snow / ice and the artist Erte in mind. We also have times set on the catwalk for a fashion parade. Though mine is staying on the stand.

It's made out of merino wool including some gorgous merino, tussah silk and bamboo batts, carded by Sara from saratexturecrafts.com
In the main body of the bag, I have felted crushed lutradur (CS500) into the merino. Hence the bag being slashed at the front to see the CS500.

My wall hanging is a abstract piece of "The Frosted Wood of Narnia". It will be hung in the Fulcrum Stand. This is a Narnia themed walk through area. All the exhibits are hung from the top of the stand.
Its made of dyed Silk Organza which has been heavily stitched to give it texture like bark. The branches have been made out of a textured yarn and stitching. Then its all been stippled with white emulsion to give a frosty look. Ill hopefully get some better photos of it later next week.

Im off on Wednesday to set the stands up and ill be there stewarding on Saturday. (I dont know which stand though. Im hoping to do a stint on both of them!) Ill show you more photos soon of the exhibition and our work later next week.

Busy is not the word......

Well the year of madness has started and everything has come all at once! Hence me not blogging for a while. Seeming I have taken some photos, I thought I would do a quick post to update you all.

I have just seen that I have one hundred people looking at my blog now. Thank you very much for following me. In a few weeks, when things have died down a little, ill sort out a celebratory post and also have a little give away!
March is here and my first big fair is a week tomorrow at Thoresby Park Craft and Country Fair in Nottinghamshire. My stock is still rather depleted from the festive season, so I cant say my family will see much of me this weekend! These are a few flowers that iv been experimenting with. Silk and Merino combined is a lovely type of felt to work with and it gives it a wonderful sheen.

New Flower
Felted soaps have been really popular with two large amounts being posted to Starfish Studio and Mad about Nature. I'm yet to get mine done!

Felted Soap Sent to Starfish Studio
This is a piece of the wall hanging that I'm currently making for the Fulcrum Stand at the Fashion, Embroidery and Stitch Exhibition, NEC, Birmingham. The hanging measures two metres by half a metre and its made up of sheer silk organza. Pictures of both my exhibits for this exhibition will be posted hopefully at the end of next week. Sorry its been so secretive!
