Getting sorted!

Iv finally got myself and my workshop sorted. Everything has its place now and I can finally work in peace away from distractions in the house. Plus my house doesnt get cluttered with my crafting things about.

Well Happy Mothers Day to all out there. I hope that you all have had a wonderful day. Iv been treated to a lovely meal out, also with my parents and in-laws. Everyone wore there brooches that i made for there pressies........

Mothers Day!

Well its the night before mothers day and I have finally finished making the rest of the pressies. Must admit I have cheated with the cards but in sure the pressie will make up for it.
Im liking my new flowers with the polymer clay button centre. It adds something different.

Iv been playing!

Well as I said, I bought somethings from the exhibition and iv finally had the chance to play with them. These are my results with the Fimo. Its was harder that I thought and iv needed to order some more supplies as iv used such a lot. I need to be more light handed!

NEC, Hobbycraft and Sewing for Pleasure

After breaking down on our way on Thursday, we finally got to the NEC on Friday!
The show was very good and i would say slightly larger than last year. It was better as they had incorparated the Sewing for Pleasure into the Hobbycraft. Alot of different things there this year - wood turning and a gardening section.

We met this lovely lady "Birdy Heywood" who makes fabulous jewellery and figures out of polymer clay. Very inspiring lady and she was very kind to give and and my friend a pendents that she made in while we were watching (about a hour!). I have just to polish it and ill put a photo up when iv finished it. "Thank you Birdy for your great tips and knowledge". Silk paper and felt artwork has definitely become popular over the last 12 months and there was more being exhibited this year.


Another exhibitor was Kim Thittichai from nid-noi.com also www.kimthittichai.com
Kim is a textile artists. Working with heat tools such as soldering irons, heat guns and household irons can add texture and variety to textile work - whether it's hand embroidery, machine embroidery, quilting or felting. She also has written a book called Hot Textiles. One to definitely get!!

Oliver Twist was also there with there lovely silks, felts and threads. I did have a plastic moment in there!!

I'm was very impressed with my 4 month old baby boy, who was a very good boy throughout the whole day. He definitely liked the attention from the ladies!!

I'm off now to look through my goodies and start experimenting!

Im trying a new thing today........ Felted Flowers. Iv been inspired by some photos on fickr, so thought i would have a go. Im really quite pleased with them.

These are going to be Mothers Day presents for our mums.

Iv just read what my daughters got for her homework this weekend and im going to be in my element! She needs to design and create a wacky racer for red nose day! I feel a paper mechi moment coming on! Oh what fun!! Ill put photos up when it is finished!

Race for Life 2009

Myself and a few friends are doing the Race for Life again on Sunday 12th July,at Weston Park, Leicester. Its especially important this year as one of our friends has died from Terminal Cancer in Jan. We also have some loved ones who have either died or have had cancer, this would be a great tribute to them.
