Too many ideas for my hands to keep up with!
I must admit I do get carried away and keep making new things. As my mum always says "You'll never be board our Maria!" I'm motivated by so many different artists, and I really love it!
Newbies!
Fire Vase
Iv been dieing to have some time to do this. Iv had the vase sitting on the side for ages and I really wanted to try this new wool. It looks wonderful in my window. Just need to hint for some lovely flowers to put in it!
Moss Shawl and Felted Flower
I'm loving how this has turned out. Iv felted some skeleton leaves (gold and copper) into the sides of this shawl, which has given it a Autumnal feel to it. Iv embroidered around the leaves with autumn threads to highlight and emboss them. This is a different flower to what I normally would make and I'm pleased with how it has turned out.
Still on the Autumnal theme....... Needle Felted Cuff's
I remember wearing leather cuff's in my teens and thought I would try and make some in the felt. It's a great way of using your oddments of wool and silks and there so warm! Just to finish them off iv added some embroidery and one of my handmade buttons.
Yes.... More Christmas Decorations!
I bought some wonderful squares of hand dyed felt at the Sewing for Pleasure exhibition earlier this year and I was wondering what to do with it. So iv been playing!
Craft Fairs
I did my first outdoor fair for this year at the Littlethorpe Gala in Leicestershire last weekend. I would fully recommend going next year. There were quite a few stalls and loads of things for children to do. Tug of war contest, Morris dancing, children's racing and all sorts. It was a lovely sunny day and the atmosphere was great. I did some needle felting demonstrating whilst my mother-in-law was helping behind the stall.
My son (in the picture) was having a great time watching everything going off!
Happy little boy!!
And finally..... (Sorry for the long post!)
Race for Life 09
Me and Netty did the Race for Life at Weston Park Leicester again this year. It was a significant year for Netty as her beloved husband died of terminal cancer in January this year. The rain kept off and we had a emotional yet enjoyable time. Thanks to everyone that sponsered me again.
Im number 5 and my friend Netty.
I loved my glitter hat. I say loved as my daughter has now took a liking to it!
Thanks for reading............

New Wool
Iv purchased some new wool this week and I aspect most of you are like me.......... As soon as the parcel turns up you cant wait to play with the goodies!
These are the scarfs and shawls that have been made. The pink shawl is merino wool, though a have a suspicion that it may be mixed with something as its turned out quite textured and not as smooth as normal. Quite different!
The turquoise and light blue are merino mixed with silk fibre and merino underlined. I must admit I'm in to minds to keep the light blue one. The picture doesn't do it justice!
Bangles!!
I was in a clothing stall the other day and noticed all the chunky jewellery. As a crafter would think "I will have a go at that!" So here are my experiments. My Shetland sheep wool is brilliant to needle felt and in rather pleased with these. Especially the multi coloured ones.
Hair Clips
I said I had been making these in my last post and I have finally taken some photos!
Needle Felted Decorations
As you've seen iv been making some Christmas decorations. In addition iv been also making some cutie hearts and angels.

New Creations and Inspirations
Well the weather has been rather hot and sticky! Unfortunately iv not been able to work in my workshop as its been to hot for my me and my little boy (35 degrees). So iv been needle felting in home instead. Iv made some hair clips (Not taken any pictures yet.), Flump and Geode Pin Cushions, and yes Christmas Decorations! You have to start sometime!
Why Flump Pin Cushions? This was suggested by a friend as the sort of resemble the characters out of the 80's children's programme "The Flumps" (Picture below.) Mmmmm! Will have to think about that one......
Geodes are really fun to make, especially when you cant remember what colours you have used!
Yes I know that there's 5 months before Christmas. I was having a think for the future and thought I would experiment! I quite like these....
I'm starting a Level 3 Diploma in Creative Textiles in September and I went to see this years students work in a exhibition this week. I was very impressed and also very inspired. I'm really looking forward to doing the course and expanding my knowledge in this area. In fact I could of very easily come home that day and started to experiment, though unfortunately I didn't have the time to do so. Iv got loads of ideas floating around in my head. Here's a few pictures of the students exhibits.
